IRAN-U.S.-TERROR-REPORT
Washington, May 7 (IranVNC)—Iran’s Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Mohammad Ali Hosseini on Wednesday called the recently released U.S. State Department Annual Country Reports on Terrorism “baseless accusations which have been repeated many times,” Iran’s semi-official news agency ISNA reported today.
In its most recent report on terrorism, the State Department said Iran “remains the most active state sponsor of terrorism”, adding that Tehran “provides aid to Palestinian terrorist groups, Lebanese [Hezbollah], Iraq-based militants, and Taliban fighters in Afghanistan.”
Hosseini rejected the report’s findings, saying: “The United States considers [Iran’s] political and moral support of the people of Palestine and Lebanon in the face of Zionist [Israeli] aggression against the defenseless people of these countries” to be a terrorist act.
