AHMADINEJAD – IRAN – TURKEY – ISRAEL - TIRADE
Washington, 14 August (IranVNC) – Iran’s President Mahmoud Ahmadinjead unleashed a new verbal attack on Israel on Wednesday, before his two-day visit to Turkey – a close ally of Israel.
In a live interview with the Turkish-language CNN Turk television network, Ahmadinejad said that all the people of the region are opposed to the “Zionist” regime and said that “the life of this regime has come to an end.” He also chided Western countries for supporting Israel and admonished them to cease their support.
Ahmadinejad reiterated his deprecation of Israel, saying that the “Zionist regime has been founded on a falsehood in that even of Jews were victimized in Europe, there is no justification for the people of this region to atone for it.” He said that “transplanting” Jews from various parts of the world to “the occupied lands” (Israel) was a “seductive” act against the people of the region.
Iran’s president added: “If a referendum is held, such a regime (Israel) will automatically cease to exist.” He said his country is ready to help the United Nations to hold such a referendum. Then, he added, “wars and oppression” will be uprooted in the region.
"Our position is clear on this issue. A referendum should take place in Palestine. If they withdraw from invaded lands it would be a good step," he said. He said he would welcome a decision by Israel to return the occupied lands and get out of the region.
