DAVOUD AHMADINEJAD – RESIGNATION
Washington, 14 August (IranVNC)—Davoud Ahmadinejad’s departure from the post of Special Inspector to the President of the Islamic Republic, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, was confirmed today by his replacement, Abdolreza Sheikholeslam, the president’s Chief of Staff.
Earlier this week several news websites, including Tabnak had reported that Davoud Ahmadinejad had been dismissed because of his disagreement with his brother, President Ahmadinejad, over the nomination of Ali Kordan as minister of interior.
However on Wednesday Jam-e Jam Newspaper quoted an unnamed source as saying that the former Special Inspector to the President had left his post because of health reasons.
This report was confirmed today by Abdolreza Sheikholeslam, who told Fars News Agency: “Davoud Ahmadinejad has left his post on the recommendation of his physicians, and the responsibilities of the Special Inspector of the President have been bestowed upon me.”
