NARCOTICS – GOATS – IRAN
Washington, 21 August (IranVNC)—Iran’s law enforcement officer in charge of combating narcotics said yesterday that Iranian police had confiscated 39 goats carrying roughly 94 kilograms of narcotics.
Police officers in Iran’s southeastern Sistan-va-Baluchistan Province became suspicious of a truck heading towards the border town of Zabol, which was carrying 100 goats, Brigadier General Hossein Hamid-Reza Hossein-Abadi told the semiofficial Fars News Agency.
After killing the goats, the Police reportedly discovered about 94 kilograms of opium stored in 310 packages, which were fitted inside the goats’ stomachs, Fars News Agency reports.
Iran’s Police last week discovered 35 kilograms of narcotics in the stomachs of 18 goats in that country’s southern Kerman Province.
