Iran bans sale of greens and salads in Qom and Karaj

Washington, August 24 (IranVNC)—Iran’s health authorities announced today that in order to prevent the spread of cholera, the selling of greens and salads has been banned in the cities of Qom and Karaj.

Last week Iran’s Ministry of Health announced that so far, 84 cases of cholera have been identified in Iran.

Sarmayeh Newspaper today quoted Hasan Emami-Razavi, the deputy for well-being at the Ministry of Health as saying: “In order to control and prevent the spread of cholera, the selling of greens and salads in the cities of Qom and Karaj with largest number of cholera cases, has been banned.”

Emami-Razavi added that of the 84 infected with the disease, four have died.
