Top IAEA official to visit Iran this week

Washington, 5 August (IranVNC)—Ollie Heinonen, the Deputy Director-General of the International Atomic Energy Agency [IAEA], will travel to Tehran on Thursday for talks on Iran’s nuclear program, Reuters reports an IAEA spokesperson as saying.
The spokesperson did not specify the reason for his trip, according to Reuters.
The semi-official ISNA news agency also reported the planned trip, saying he would “meet and talk” with Iran’s officials during a three-day visit.
Heinonen’s trip comes amid increasing tension between Tehran and the major world powers over its failure to suspend its nuclear program.
