IRAN – ACTRESS – TRAVEL
Washington, 26 August (IranVNC)—Iranian actress Golshifteh Farahani has left for the United States, a colleague said today, dismissing reports that she was banned from traveling as “nothing but rumors”.
“This trip was taken last Thursday,” the semi-official Fars News Agency quoted director Mohammad Reza Sharifinia as saying.
Sharifinia, who has worked with Farahani on a number of projects, described her travel as a “personal trip” that was “not for a part in another foreign project that was proposed to her.”
Iran’s official IRNA news agency last week quoted an “informed source” as saying that Iran had banned Farahani from leaving the country because she had played a role in a Hollywood film without seeking permission from Iran’s Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance.
But Sharifinia dismissed the reports as “lies,” saying: “This news is nothing but rumors and this trip is a sign that these rumors are lies.”
