* Blogging politics
Mas’ud, the author of the weblog “Bitter dictums of …” has a posting entitled “you deserve to be buried with such a president” in which he explains his sense of disgust when listening to the speeches of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
“I always wished that I could feel proud whenever the president of my country speaks! To feel that even if this president was not my choice, nevertheless he was up to par for my country. […]
“Yesterday I saw a clip of the president who was speaking among a group of [revolutionary] guard commanders and was saying that during his trip to Iraq, one of the American commanders had requested a meeting with him and after giving him a military salute told him that [the president of Iran] has a place in [the American commander’s] heart, and then requested to take a picture with him. […] While telling the story, the president was obviously keyed up. […] Honestly, regardless of whether the story is true or not, why should such a meeting and photo op with some unknown and unnamed US commander be so thrilling for a president? […]
“Mr. president, I am not reproaching you for saying these words or being so cock-a-hoop! You are unchangeable and this as it is, is your true character! I reproach myself and say to myself may dirt pile up over my head to cover the shame of having such a person as my president. […]”

* Blogging society
In his “Letters of Ayyub” the author takes a look around and uses what he sees as material for a half-ironic post.
“Praised be Allah, everything is good and on its way, with abundant bread on tables and rulers just and pious. No one breathes a lie in our city and it’s been years since hypocrisy has left our midst.
“Sheriff and deputies are looking out to protect the possessions and the honor of the people with all eyes and the seminarians are buried up to their necks in piety and fear of Allah, and administrators, all judicious, professional and aces in the field.
“The only problem remains with a few stupid and slow people like us, and praised be Allah, just like America they can’t do a damn thing and if you look carefully at the few of us as well, when it comes to action and it will indeed turn out to be sheep in wolves’ clothing.”

The author of the weblog “Satan’s Whisper” tries to diagnose the pathology of the society and people around him in a post entitled “Deluded Sagacity.” He writes in part:
“[…] we Iranians are caught up in a big delusion which involves seeing ourselves as perfect. We think that we were born with the knowledge of everything, and for this reason, we don’t try at all to learn anything, and all that goes on around us does not add anything to our hoard [of knowledge] and only in a personal way do we try to use [what goes on around us] to influence our mentality. And then we are constantly turning in circles and repeating mistakes. […]
“That is why everyone likes to trade but remain on the level of a small time shopkeeper with the same characteristics, even if they deal with high profits.
“That is why we boast about having the best drivers but have the worst traffic, and our cars don’t last long.
“The learned people and experts among us do not enter the world of science more than a centimeter […]”

The author of the weblog “The Last Godfather” writes daily posts, in which he criticizes the parliament’s recently passed bill called “Psychological Security Plan” parts of which has to do with bloggers.
“[…] I fear that one day when I’m fed up and heated I would moan and grumble a bit to calm myself down, not realizing that by so doing I would be disrupting the psychological well-being of the society. The wonder is that the poor society still has a psyche for me to come, and by writing four and a half lines in a dilapidated blog, mix it all up. If it is so, one must shed tears for the psychic state of this psychotic and sick society. If this is the state of society’s psyche…
“[…] With this trend we will soon have to provide justification for our choice of color and style of our underpants and clear it with the “headquarters of the plan to raise the security of the family oriented weekend evenings.” Don’t worry. They will soon announce this and we will soon get used to this also and our voice will not come out [in objection]. […]”
