• Blogging politics
The writer of the weblog “my minimals” believes that Western culture has “enveloped Iran and the world” and that contrary to the claims of countries which are opposed to the West, Westerners are “dominating us”; the blogger writes:
“When people line up for hours in China to buy the latest Harry Potter book, or when, in this God forsaken county of ours, a thousand writers translate the Potter series; when rap-rock and heavy metal [music] tops the charts in these kinds of countries, one should understand that this foreign culture has fully enveloped and triumphed over us. But then, you basiji [militia] youngster… go and barge your way into people’s homes to stop them from watching satellite TV or filter internet sites or detain young girls on grounds that they are not strictly observing the Islamic dress code, for fear that Western culture might increase in this country…”

On the weblog “9/11 Committee”, Peyman Parval has posted a commentary about the results of the recent parliamentary [Majles] elections in Iran, pointing out that the European Union described these elections as “unfair”. The blogger also refers to the criticisms of reformists concerning the vetting of candidates and the counting of votes. He writes:
“…The EU has strongly criticized the manner in which recent [Majles] elections were staged in the Islamic Republic of Iran…
“Results announced so far indicate that the `principle-ists’ have had a decisive win…
“The reformists called for supervision over the vote-counts but no notice was taken of their demand. [Abdolvahed] Musavi-Lari, the head of the reformist coalition election headquarters and former interior minister under the presidency of [Mohammad] Khatami said that the vote-counting procedure is the most important issue to be addressed. In continuation, he cast doubts over the `healthy staging of the elections’...”

• Blogging personal issues
The blogger of “andarmian [in the midst of things]” who calls himself Mammad has satirised in verse, the Iranian parliament and its deputies, comparing them to a bunch of “mules” and “idiots”, who do not care about the people. Mammad writes:
“A hundred mules, pack by pack
“All bearded, hairy and [jackets] buttoned up
“Every idiot a thief and full of greed
“Claiming the public fund belongs to him
“They don’t give a hoot about the people
“They sit in cozy surroundings passing laws
“They extract votes from the people as well as bribes
“And whatever you say, they don’t give a damn…”

• Blogging Society
The writer of “drained mind” weblog has focused on the issue of addiction and those suffering from this “sickness”. The blogger believes that society should not forget these addicts and should spend the necessary amount of time needed to attend to them:
“…the reason why life is hard for this specific social stratum is because they have been forgotten and they themselves are well aware of the fact that they have been forgotten. Those who knew them have forgotten them because they were busy thinking about other things; and those who loved them have also forgotten them because they have had to spent time trying to rescue them and they are so preoccupied with the next steps they have to take that they stop thinking about the person they are trying to save…”
