* Blogging Politics

Misagh [Mithaaq] in the weblog entitled “bihijabi” [un-hejab-iness, “uncovered-ness”] has written a post called “The Election-fraud Case Closed”. Here a perspective is offered on the recently held elections for the 8th Congress of the Islamic Republic of Iran, which cites such matters as “the letter of Khatami and Karubi” which criticized the electoral process and called for recounts on the count of “great breaches” such as the fact that the final numbers had been tallied during the holidays.

“[…] during the [13 day] long New Year Holidays, immediately after the announcement of the results of the 8th Majles elections, any possible chance of the will of the public to decide on whether or not to protest alongside the reformists, the manner in which the elections were carried out and their announced results. The spokesman for the Guardians’ Council early on this week reported of the body’s approval of the results of the Tehran elections, and left answerless the repeated protests of the reformists and specifically the protesting letter of Mohammad Khatami and Mehdi Kharrubi […]

“Ultimately the 8th Majles had to become a one aligned with the Ahmadinejad government, just as the Leader of the Islamic Republic, with two days left in the campaigning period, had emphasized this very ‘alignment’ […]”

In the weblog “We Are All Asleep” Amin offers an ironic interpretation of the phenomenology of Ahmadinejad’s incompetence. The argument is that Ahmadinejad is not giving false promises, because he does not know the meaning of the words he uses. If Ahmadinejad ever had to plea insanity for anything, this post could provide the theoretical framework for his attorneys.

“It’s not his fault, the meaning of the words escape his attention. For instance when one year he says ‘inflation this year has reached 13 percent, but by next year we will bring it down to single digits,’ and the following year inflation reaches 22 percent, it is not his difficulty, because the man does not know the 22 is not a single digit number. […]

“[…] or for instance when he says ‘I have a personal relationship with God’ what he means is that like many others he prays, or when he says ‘I never said that there was a halo of light encircling me,’ he means something else […]

“[Take for instance what] Mahmood Ahmadinejad today officially said: ‘I detest misleading the public and take responsibility for all problems.’ Here those in the know are of two views. The first are of the opinion that he does not know the meaning of the words ‘misleading’ and ‘public’. But there are also those who also think that Ahmadinejad is not after misleading the public, but that it is beyond his abilities to not mislead. Like many other works for which he is not qualified, like running a country, attending to the economy and many other things that he’s not good at […]”

Sasan who writes daily posts in his weblog called “The Anti-Zionist Movement” holds the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia to be one of Emad Moghnieh’s assassins. He writes:

“[…] He who pulls as spare the title of the Kissinger of Middle East, has benefited from close relations with the heads of the Zionist regime and has tried long for the normalization of relations between Arabs and Israel. According to an informed source of the security chief of Saudi Arabia’s embassy in Syria, he [the prince] is responsible for the executive operations of assassinating Emad Moghnieh […]”

* In the Sphere of Social Problems

The weblog “Hand-writings of a Freedom-seeking Man” is, in its latest posting, calling on the political sphere to either have the courage to do something, or leave the field open to all to participate:

“[…] Why can’t we human beings be ourselves! Why is a mask always on our faces??!! Why don’t you remove the mask? Why are you afraid? Of whom are you afraid? Why don’t you believe in the work that you want to do? And…

“Be courageous! Fear no one! At worst they kill you! They will throw you in prison, but you have fought in the path of truth [Haq, also: God]. Why are you afraid of the Intelligence Ministry? If you can’t do anything it is better if you step aside! Step aside and open the field up, let all come! Not a particular segment of the religious! Let the most secular of seculars come and the most Muslim of all Muslims!!! Don’t summarize the whole country to a particular segment! The country will not stay on its feet this way!
“I say it again: be yourself. Don’t fear. Be courageous. Don’t fear anyone …”
